Experiential day for students in healthcare roles

Students experienced relevant skills through workshops, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, simulated suturing and removal, and infection control training.

Many secondary school students aspire to pursue careers in healthcare, but often lack exposure to the actual responsibilities of healthcare professionals. Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital organised the 'Student Health Care Experience Scheme 2026', with over 60 Form Six students from 20 secondary schools participating. Through interactive activities such as career talks, clinical skills workshops, and departmental visits, participants gained first-hand insight into the hospital's daily operations. Many students expressed that the programme not only broadened their knowledge of healthcare industry, but also sparked a genuine interest in pursuing related careers.

The programme also successfully recruited students to continue participating in volunteer services, such as promoting the 'HA Go' mobile app.
