Intensive Care

Introduction

Tuen Mun Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 26-bed unit spreading over 2 wards, B8 and D8, in the hospital main block. This ICU caters for both medical and surgical patients in the New Territories West Cluster, with the annual turnover of about 1,800 patients. Our unit covers all medical subspecialties except for cardiac surgery. Patient coverage starts from paediatric patients above 20 kg in weight. We provide optimal, comprehensive, 24 hours critical care services for patients who have unstable vital functions, requiring specialised treatment, and supportive measures. We aim to build up a strong medical and nursing team, with emphasis on service quality, patient safety, and client satisfaction.

Our unit is fully equipped with a number of state-of-the-art equipment, managed by a multidisciplinary healthcare team of physicians, nurses and other supporting staff, who provide comprehensive and collaborative care for highly acute health emergencies and illnesses.
