QMH through the lens

To celebrate the 80^th anniversary of Queen Mary Hospital (QMH), a photo exhibition which showcased 50 precious photos was organised at Exchange Square in Central earlier. The exhibition has received positive feedback from visitors. Some amazing photos are considered to demonstrate a journalistic sense. In order to find out more about those behind the scenes, Helen learned from QMH that some shots were taken by members of the Hong Kong Press Photographers Association (HKPPA).

In order to show the public the real work of health care teams, QMH initiated a month-long project with HKPPA and asked photojournalists to station in designated locations around-the-clock to capture touching moments day and night. For urgent cases such as the delivery of a newborn or organ transplant operation, QMH staff would call the stand-by photojournalists at once who would rush to the hospital to capture these precious moments.

This exhibition also includes award-winning photos of the QMH 80^th Anniversary Photo Competition from staff and public. Presenting different styles from those of photojournalists, these touching photos capture changing faces of the hospital buildings and reflect harmonious relations between medical workers and patients.
