Professor John Leong Chi-yan lauded for outstanding directorship

Professor John Leong Chi-yan, Chairman of the Hospital Authority, visited Tseung Kwan O Hospital and worked closely with colleagues to enhance the service quality.

Professor John Leong Chi-yan, Chairman of the Hospital Authority (HA), has been selected as an awardee for Directors of the Year Awards 2018 in the category of ‘Statutory / Non‑profit-distributing Organisations Non-Executive Directors’ organised by The Hong Kong Institute of Directors.

Serving as the Chairman of HA since 2013, Prof Leong strives to communicate with HA Board Members, colleagues and stakeholders. He has successfully ensured effective management of public hospitals and delivery of quality public hospital services on the basis of a robust corporate governance framework. Honoured to receive the award, Prof Leong says, “The award is a special recognition to HA’s continuous efforts over the years. I will continue to work closely with our team to boost the community’s confidence in the public hospital system.”

First launched in 2001, ‘Directors of the Year Awards’ recognise outstanding boards and directors with excellent performance in the field of corporate governance. The HA Board also received the award in 2014.
