Poisoning Features
Skin contact: rash, contact dermatitis. Ingestion: vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain; dehydration and electrolyte disturbance in severe cases.^7,8

CLINICAL MANAGEMENT

Supportive treatment. Correction of fluid and electrolyte disturbances in patients with severe gastrointestinal symptoms.

IDENTIFICATION FEATURES

Erect shrubs, up to 2 m tall, with clear sap. Leaves in whorls of 3–5; leaf blades 5–14 × 2–4 cm, lateral veins of leaves elevated abaxially. Flowers 4–6 cm long; corolla yellow, tubes narrowly funnelform, distinctly inflated at base. Capsules about 3 cm in diameter, sharp spiny. Seeds about 2 × 1.5 cm.⁹
