Anaesthesia and Operating Theatre Services
Introduction
We started our anaesthetic services shortly after the opening of Pok Oi Hospital. Our department is now providing every surgical field except for open heart surgery. Apart from providing anaesthetic care in our 10 major operating theatres, and we also provide services in other settings, such as acute and chronic pain services, interventional radiology, resuscitation, and trauma management.
Apart from active participation in patient care, we also promote education and professional training to our staff, as well as quality assurance and clinical improvement programmes.
To achieve excellence in all areas of the department, we continue to promote the efficient use of time and resources with the aim of providing our patients with quality and affordable healthcare.

Introduction
The Operating Theatre of Pok Oi Hospital is composed of 2 operating theatre floors, namely T2 and T3. There are totally 10 theatres. One theatre is assigned for emergency operation for 12 hours continuous service every day. The Operating Theatre serves seven departments, namely:-
- Department of Surgery
- Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology
- Department of Ear, Nose and Throat
- Department of Gynaecology
- Department of Ophthalmology
Scope of Service
- Provide operative service to all list operation
- Provide 12 hours emergency operation service in Pok Oi Hospital
- Acute and Chronic Pain Service
- Organ Harvesting
- Parent Present Induction Program for pediatric patient
