Positive caring among nursing teams are essential and fundamental in a healing environment, which can energise staff,
enhance caring behaviours to patients, and enhance quality outcomes. A nursing team “We Love We Care”, together with
Nursing Services Division, has strived for achieving the ultimate goal since 2010. The team aimed on cultivating organisational
caring culture of nursing team members through promotion of caring, collaboration and appreciation at workplace. A series
of activities were scheduled by three approaches:

                                    (1) Unit Harmony Ambassadors were nominated and being trained to equip their knowledge and skills on communication
and relieving stress so as to act as a facilitator to foster harmony atmosphere in their workplace.

                                    (2) “Six Strategies of Caring” and “Eight Strategies of Appreciation” were developed. Various means of innovative acts,
souvenirs, video were conducted to promote the care appreciation strategies.

                                    (3) Regular hospital-wide sharing sessions were conducted with case presentation by nurses and care-related supporting
staff, aiming to recognise good acts among nursing colleagues, enhance understanding to each other and establish role
modelling of recognition and caring to others.

To measure the level of change in caring culture in the hospital, a large scale quantitative survey was conducted in August
2013 and 2015, and the result was encouraging. Through the campaign, platform for promotion of caring culture in the
hospital with role modelling was created. Nursing staff had actively involved in series of scheduled activities to enhance
their awareness on caring culture. Transforming an organisational culture is a gradual and long term process. Therefore,
continuous effort and further investment to promote “We Love We Care” Campaign is important in future.
