Mortuary Service
With effect from 1 January 2026, the Hospital Authority (HA) implements charging for mortuary service. Families need to settle the payment based on the total number of storage days upon the collection of body.
Details are as follows:
| Days of body storage | Mortuary service charge |
|---|---|
| First 28 days | No charge |
| From day 29 | $200 per day |
| From day 36 | $550 per day |
HA encourages families to collect the deceased bodies and arrange funerals as soon as possible. For enquiries regarding the charge, families may contact the hospital’s Death Documentation Office for assistance (Tel: 3513 5428).
