Hospital Authority (HA) has a long history of working in partnership with volunteers in public hospitals (hospitals) who contribute to holistic patient care and patient satisfaction. Volunteers for patient support services in HA have greatly enhanced the quality of our services, helping patients, their families and friends, staff, visitors and the entire community
At present, the scope of work of hospital volunteers can be broadly classified as follows:
- Direct patient support: e.g. Comfort and condolence visits, Peer support and sharing, facilitate patients to join activities or outing
- Support hospital services or operation: e.g. hospital ambassador, provide support to hospital departments, assistance in health promotion activities, clerical support
