Invitation of Abstract

Your experience or research findings will provide valuable insight that can inspire innovative ideas to other participants. In line with the Convention's main theme, we sincerely invite submission of free papers on the following areas:

  • People-centred Quality Healthcare
  • Sustainable Healthcare Systems
  • Engaging Trustworthy Services
  • Staff health and wellness initiatives
  • Other clinical service or healthcare improvement programmes

Papers on other topical issues will also be considered.

Papers will be selected for oral presentation at the Service Priorities and Programmes sessions and poster displays during the Convention.  Winners for the Best Oral Presentation as well as Best Poster Presentation will be selected and awarded.  Please submit your free paper on-line by clicking the following links:

 

Selection Criteria
Please note that abstracts submitted will be selected for oral presentation or poster display with reference to the following criteria:

  • Relevance of the objectives to the main themes of HA Convention 2011
  • Applicability of the programme for service wide usage
  • Robustness of the methodology and conclusion
  • Involvement of multi-disciplinary efforts and cooperation
  • Clinical and/or service enhancement

Guidelines on Preparation of Abstracts
For uniformity, abstracts selected for oral or poster presentation will be printed in the format as per sample (please click here to view the sample on-line or download it at the following link):

The content of the abstract should be grouped under the following sections:

  • Introduction
  • Objectives
  • Methodology
  • Results and Outcomes

Please type the content under each section in the on-line abstract submission form.  The total number of words of the abstract would be less than 400 words (including abstract title and name of author(s) and English style spelling recommended.  Authors should type their initials and last name, but not degrees, titles, or institutional appointments.  The name(s) of the institution(s) where the work was carried out should follow the list of authors and correspondingly indexed.

Standard abbreviations should be used. Special or unusual abbreviation should be in parentheses after the term when it appears for the first time.

Tables and graphs are not encouraged for inclusion in the submission.  

Please note that abstracts may be rejected for publication if not conforming to the standard format.  The Organizing Committee reserves the right for the final editing of the abstracts.  

All abstracts will be posted in the Hospital Authority Convention Electronic Proceedings and the Continuous Quality Improvement Initiatives System (CQIs) platform after HA Convention.

The Abstract Submitter should warrant that all the information and content provided to Hospital Authority Convention 2011 and Hospital Authority (Hereafter: “The HA”) does not infringe any third party rights including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights.

The Abstract Submitter grants the HA a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable nonexclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the Content.
