- Organisation performance and innovation
- Service planning and priorities
- Patient safety and quality service
- Caring workforce and professional competence
Please note that papers on other topical issues will also be considered.
Papers will be selected for oral presentation at the Service Priorities and Programmes sessions and poster displays during the Convention. Winners for the Best Oral Presentation as well as Best Poster Presentation will be selected and awarded. Please submit your free paper on-line by clicking the following links:

HA Staff may submit their abstract via the HA Intranet at the Quality & Safety Division website (https://qsd.home/qi). Alternatively, you may also send in your submission by completing and returning the submission form together with your abstract to huipkp@ha.org.hk.

Selection Criteria
Please note that abstracts submitted will be selected for oral presentation or poster display with reference to the following criteria:
- Relevance of the objectives to the main themes of HA Convention 2010
- Applicability of the programme for service wide usage
- Robustness of the methodology and conclusion
- Involvement of multi-disciplinary efforts and cooperation
- Clinical and/or service enhancement
Guidelines on Preparation of Abstracts
For uniformity, abstracts selected for oral presentation will be printed in the format as per sample (please click here to view the sample on-line or download it at the following link):
When typed in single-space in English (Times New Roman) with 12 point font size, the total number of words would be less than 400 words (including abstract title and name of author(s) and English style spelling recommended. Authors should type their initials and last name, but not degrees, titles, or institutional appointments. The name(s) of the institution(s) where the work was carried out should follow the list of authors and correspondingly indexed with superscript.
e.g.: Yeung JHH1, Cheung NK1,2., Graham CA1,2, Rainer TH1,2

Standard abbreviations should be used. Special or unusual abbreviation should be in parentheses after the term when it appears for the first time.

Submission should be in Word format. Print or fax copies of abstracts will not be accepted.
Abstracts may be rejected for publication if illegible or not conforming with the standard format. The Organizing Committee reserves the right for the final editing of the abstracts.
