This Certificate Course in Mental Health (MHC) is a 13.5-hour training course organised by the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) of Castle Peak Hospital. It aims to provide training to professionals, health care professionals and related personnel on the common mental illnesses and the knowledge and skills in managing mental illnesses by comprehensive lectures, case discussions/vignettes, and interactive workshops.

The Summer Student Volunteer Programme 2023 provides an opportunity for teenagers who are interested in psychiatric services and its development in Hong Kong. Participants will participate in volunteer services and visit different units of Castle Peak Hospital. The programme will be held from 17 to 21 July 2023, and the application deadline will be 28 May 2023. Details are as follows:

We are pleased to invite Dr. Debbie LEUNG to conduct an online workshop on “Using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to Inform Your Practice: An Introduction to DBT” on 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17 June 2023, which is organised by the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) of Castle Peak Hospital. This online workshop will allow participants to incorporate core DBT principles and strategies into their clinical practice.

We are pleased to conduct a webinar on “Advanced Training in Mental Health for Frontline Mental Health Professionals: Management of Self-harm Behaviour in Youth in the Community” on 21 April 2023, which is organised by the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) of Castle Peak Hospital.

This webinar will provide an overview of the knowledge of identification, assessment and management of self-harm in youth, so as to provide a clearer picture of the problem and facilitate the formulation of care plan by workers in various disciplines.

This online workshop will equip participants with knowledge and skills about evidence-based groupwork, and enhance their abilities in planning groups and utilizing group dynamics in running groups.

This year (2021), while Castle Peak Hospital (CPH) is celebrating its 60^th anniversary, "Mind Space" has been opened to invited community organisations and schools for visits starting from October. Mind Space is established by Castle Peak Hospital with the donation of HK$30 million from the "HSBC 150^th Anniversary Charity Programme", with the aim to raising public awareness of mental well-being.

We are pleased to invite Dr. Suzanne SO to conduct a two-day workshop on "Evidence-based Low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Strategies for Depression and Anxiety (Re-run)" on 13-14 December 2019, which is organised by the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) of Castle Peak Hospital. This two-day workshop will provide practitioners with up-to-date knowledge about evidence-based low-intensity cognitive behavioural strategies for depression and anxiety. Strategies used to systematically assess and treat patients with mild depression and anxiety problems will be introduced and practised.

This one-day workshop will provide the concepts and knowledge related to current parenting practices, and will introduce the skills in interviewing and establishing rapport with parents and in coaching parents to manage their children.

We are pleased to invite Prof. Joyce Ma to conduct a two-day workshop on "Family Therapy for Depression and Anorexia Nervosa" on 2 - 3 November 2018, which is organised by the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) of Castle Peak Hospital. In the workshop, a systemic framework will be used to explain depression and anorexia nervosa, and the families' experiences, as well as to apply knowledge and skills of family therapy in helping people with depression and anorexia nervosa.

We are pleased to invite Dr. Robyn Walser to conduct the Basic Training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and its Application in a Busy Clinic from 12 to 13 October 2017, which is organised by the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) of Castle Peak Hospital. The two-day workshop will discuss and demonstrate ACT techniques that are broadly useful in a busy clinic or interviewing with multi-problem clients dealing with a variety of issues.

We are pleased to invite Dr. Suzanne So to conduct the Evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Strategies for Depression and Anxiety Two-day Workshop from 23 to 24 February 2017, which is organised by the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) of Castle Peak Hospital. The two-day workshop will equip participants with the knowledge and skills in providing patient-centred assessment and low-intensity cognitive behavioural intervention to clients with depression and anxiety disorder.

To celebrate its 55th Anniversary, Castle Peak Hospital will organise an Open Day on 3 December 2016 (Saturday) for the public. The theme of this year’s open day is ‘A Psychiatric Patient’s Journey of Recovery’ and there will be a range of programmes including educational talks, booths, stage performance, visits to hospital facilities etc. We welcome you to join us on this special occasion!

We are pleased to invite Prof. Mark R Dadds to conduct the Integrated Approach in Treating Child Conduct Disorders One-day Workshop on 4 November 2016, which is organised by the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) of Castle Peak Hospital. The one-day workshop will provide practitioners with refreshing perspectives on family intervention. Strategies used to maximise parental engagement, reduce drop-out, and facilitate positive change in difficult families will be introduced.

We are pleased to invite Dr. Shuk-wah Helen MA (馬淑華博士) to conduct a one-day experiential workshop on Nourishing Ourselves with Mindfulness on 13 May 2016, which is organised by the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) of Castle Peak Hospital. This workshop aims to introduce the basic concepts of stress reactions, mind-body medicine and mindfulness as well as enhance the participants' well-being through the application of mindfulness in their daily lives.

"Capture a Beautiful Moment" Photography Exhibition is organised by the Art-in-CPH project group, the Institute of Mental Health, Castle Peak Hospital. The exhibited photos were taken by the service users of the Buddy Support Programme together with our doctors, nurses, occupational therapists and volunteer tutors. Through this exhibition, we hope the public can gain a better understanding of the inner world of our service users so as to promote social inclusion and enhance public awareness in mental health.

We are pleased to invite Dr. Neha Chawla, PhD to conduct a two-day workshop on Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention on 18 & 19 December 2015, which is organised by the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) of Castle Peak Hospital. The 2-day workshop will enhance participants’ knowledge in providing aftercare services for patients who suffered from addictive behaviours and help them to maintain treatment gains and to develop a lifestyle that support their well-being and recovery. It aims to provide training to mental health professionals and other workers who take care of clients with drug and alcohol problem.

The Intellectual Disability Activity Centre of Excellence, Castle Peak Hospital and the Hospital's Medical Social Services Unit of the Social Welfare Department join hands to present the "Art to Heart" Exhibition sponsored by the Queen Elizabeth Foundation for the Mentally Handicapped. The exhibition displays over 20 pieces of art work created by the patients with intellectual disabilities.

The Institute of Mental Health (IMH) is proud to present Prof. Anthony W Bateman, MA, FRCPsy who developed MBT with Peter Fonagy and is a distinguished lecturer and book author in the aspect of MBT.

Presented by the Hospital Archives and Gallery Exhibition Subcommittee of the Institute of Mental Health, Castle Peak Hospital, this exhibition includes display of different pictures, early medical equipment, documents and old ward keys, illustrating the development of Castle Peak Hospital and the psychiatric services in Hong Kong with an aim of reducing stigma towards mental illness.
