Severe Intellectual Disability Activity Centre of Excellence (SIDACE)

Introduction

The goals of Severe Intellectual Disability Activity Centre of Excellence are:-

• To maximise patients' potentials to live as independent as possible
• To normalise patients' living schedule to enhance quality of life through cultivating interests and providing leisure activities
• To support patients, relatives and NGOs to maintain community integration

Scope of Services

SIDACE has two service domains, including training and therapeutic activities, as well as outreach service.

1. Training and therapeutic activities

   Activities include eye-hand coordination training, self-help skills training, domestic skills training, communication and social skills training, games and community participation programmes and so on.

2. Outreach service

   Services include residential home and staffed home visits, arrangement of urgent placement and infirmary admission, and so on.
