4 Core Services

  1. Patient and Carer Empowerment and Support
    • Provides psychosocial support for patients and carers
    • Collaborates with clinical departments and community stakeholders to promote disease management, health information and community resources, including health talks, peer sharing, peer support programmes, and community collaboration programmes.
    • Invite recovered patients to volunteer and share their treatment journey, aiding others in building confidence and providing mutual support.
  2. Support to Patient Groups
    • Develops and nurtures patient self-help groups, facilitate the reinforcement of patient support groups and mutual support networks.
    • Develops and promotes care and mutual support amongst peers by cooperating with healthcare professionals, community organizations and district patient support groups to organize support programmes for patients and carers
  3. Volunteer Services and Development
    • Assists the hospital in providing efficient and high-quality services
    • Facilitates patients and the needy in reintegrating into society and improve their quality of life
    • Promotes the philosophy of “Helping Others to Help Themselves” and foster “volunteerism”
    • Partners with the community
  4. Community Collaboration and Partnership
    • Develops a platform to facilitate community partners and involve service users in order to enhance medical-social collaborations
    • Promotes health education
    • Aims to build a healthy and caring community
    • Gathers community strengths to improve patient’s quality of life
