heelchair is often an indispensible device for patients who suffer from severe physical disabilities. Our NTWC colleagues set up a wheelchair bank. With the sponsorship of over $2.2 million by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, over 80 specialised wheelchairs with rotation, ascending/descending and standing support function were added to the bank. Patients can loan the wheelchairs free of charge on a short term basis, which greatly improves their self-care ability and quality of life.

The NTWC Seating Clinic provides further support by offering a one-stop assessment service. A team of medical professionals, including pediatricians, orthopedists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and orthopedists, will assist patients to choose the right wheelchair effectively, enabling them to retain regular social life.
