On 25 March, Hospital Authority will be holding a singing contest at the HKBU Academic Community Hall, where participants from different clusters and departments will be dressing up to show off their finest singing.

Keep running
Having a vision problem cannot stop one from enjoying the fun of sports. Ngan Heung-shan, who took part at the HA New Year Run, has vividly proved it.

"I love the feeling of running. There is lots of fun and all the stress can be relieved," said Ngan, a retired telephone operator of Hong Kong Eye Hospital who was born with visual impairment.

Ngan is very thankful for his colleague Law Fat-hin who has inspired him to pick up the hobby of running, and encouraged him to sign up for the New Year Run.

Half marathon queen

M any HA staff, who excel in sports, have made extraordinary performance in open competitions. The recent one was Christy Yiu Kit-ching who won the women's half-marathon at the Standard Chartered Marathon on 5 February.

"I was quite surprised that I won. There were some very strong runners this year," said Christy, a nurse working at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital, who has managed to win this race for four consecutive years. "Running a marathon is challenging. It demands persistence, and you need to know how to avoid injury."
