As announced in the Chief Executive’s 2017 Policy Address, the Hospital Authority (HA) is establishing a Big Data Analytics Platform (the Platform) to support the formulation of healthcare policies, facilitate biotechnological research, and help improve clinical and healthcare services.
In order for the Platform to generate value for healthcare research with stimulation of innovative ideas by the research community, the HA Data Collaboration Laboratory (HADCL) is set up as a new alternative channel for more flexible and interactive data sharing in HA, which provides a secured collaboration platform between HA and external parties for deeper data analysis within a controlled environment for conducting health data collaboration projects.
The HADCL is launched on a pilot basis and open for applications by local academic institutions since October 2018, and formally launched in December 2019. Its service provisions include:
