About Us
- The Tuen Mun Hospital School of General Nursing was established in 1990 as a Gazetted RN training school until 2002. It was reopened in 2008.
- Graduates are well-equipped to be competent RN and well-recognized by colleagues.
- Nursing School has conducted the Higher Diploma in Nursing (HDN) program in collaboration with local University from 1997 to 2002, with totally 140 graduates.
- Today, the Nursing School continues to prepare future professional nurses for various care settings in HK & internationally.
- One major component of the program curriculum is to provide opportunities for the students to gain field/clinical experience of which they are able to learn through practice & reflection under supervision.
- The support to students from clinical mentors during their field studies is one of the crucial elements in the curriculum implementation.
School Mission
- To provide quality nursing education for learners to become competent professional nurses to meet the health needs of the community;
- To develop learners to be knowledgeable, ethical, responsible, innovative and caring qualified nurses;
- To provide supportive environment for learners to facilitate their learning throughout the training period and give them a sense of belonging in order to attract, motivate and retain learners to become qualified nurses;
- To collaborate with departments and units of the hospital together with other nursing institutions in offering clinical placement opportunities to enrich learner's scope of vision in nursing; and
- To enhance the quality of nursing education within the resource available.
