About Us

The Department consists of two main Units at Main Block (first floor of Wing H and Wing D extension) and K Block (third floor).

Main Block 

The Unit at Main Block provides Digital Subtraction Angiography, Interventional Radiology, Magnetic Resonance imaging (MRI), general and special radiography, Computed Tomography (CT) services and Mammography (relocated).

 
Block K

The Unit at Block K provides General and Special radiographic examinations, Fluoroscopy, Interventional Radiology, Ultrasonography, and Urography.

 
MRI Center, D1

QMH is the first HA hospital to have an advanced 3T MRI scanner installed. The Wing D extension houses a 3T MRI scanner together with two other 1.5T MRI scanners.

 
Accidents & Emergency (A&E)

Two X-ray rooms are equipped with Digital Radiography system and network connection with A&E Department for viewing of the images produced. This sub-unit provides 24-hour radiographic services for in-patients and A&E patients. The CT scanner at A&E Department has been in 24-hour operation since September 2009.

 
Satellite X-Ray Services

Radiology services provided to the satellite units of Queen Mary Hospital includes Endoscopy Centre at ND3, Lithotripsy (and Urodynamic Studies) Unit at ND4, and the Cardiac Catherisation Laboratory at K19 and CG.

 
Cluster Services

Enhancement and redistribution of radiological services are introduced and implemented for cost effectiveness and good quality care. Department of Radiology of QMH is the hub of imaging services for the HKWC. More training and exposure opportunities have been created for radiology staff in these cluster hospitals.

 
Nuclear Medicine Unit

The unit is equipped with 3 Gamma Cameras (2 SPECT/CT) and a Bone Densitometry (DXA) machine at Cancer Centre 3/F and 4/F respectively. It provides servics in Scintigraphy and Bone Density measurements for the HKWC.
