Introduction

The Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology provides medical and nursing services to citizens of northwest New Territories of Hong Kong. Patients with traumatic injuries, bony fractures, burn and orthopaedic problems are receiving state-of-the art, specialized care provided by professional doctors and nurses of the Department.

Scope of services

The Department provides inpatient management, specialist outpatient consultation, orthopaedic surgery, trauma management, day surgery service, pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. We admit patients from the Accident and Emergency Department, outpatient department and other hospitals. Besides, in collaboration with various allied health departments, patients have access to physiotherapy, occupational therapy, prosthesis and orthosis service, pathology and diagnostic radiology service during their course of treatment.

With multi-team effort, we provide patient-oriented, holistic care to our patients, enhancing their health and well being by health education. We develop professional staff through continuous quality improvement program, education and research.
