North District Hospital (NDH) is the first hospital fully planned and constructed by the Hospital Authority. It commenced its services in February 1998.
NDH's motto is "We Serve, We Care, We Create a Happy Hospital". As an acute general hospital in the North District, NDH provides the population of the New Territories East Cluster (NTEC) catchment with comprehensive and professional healthcare services. The Hospital currently provides 24-hour Accident & Emergency, specialist outpatient, allied health, day care and community nursing services etc.
As a member of NTEC, North District Hospital is dedicated to provide patient-centric health care services to the community of the NTEC and aims at:
- providing quality healthcare services to the members of public;
- providing in-patient and out-patient services, focusing on ambulatory care and community nursing care services, and maintaining close relationship with the other health care providers;
- concerning and responding to the healthcare concerns of the local community in order to fulfill the role of community hospital;
- participating in health education and promotion programmes for the community;
- fostering patient-centric concept to maintain effective communication and provide appropriate support to the patients and their families; and
- optimizing the hospital operation efficiency to cope with the service demand.
