Message from HOSPITAL AUTHORITY CONVENTION 2017

It is my honour to welcome you all to the Hospital Authority Convention 2017.

This conference is a bridging link for medical professionals from around the world to share
experiences and ideas on how we can collectively move forward in the delivery of quality public
healthcare services.

With the advent of technology, information technology is playing an increasingly important role
in all aspects of our lives – healthcare is no exception. In a digital age, the effective application
of technology is critical in supporting HA in achieving its mission and strategic objectives in
delivering the highest possible standards of medical diagnosis, treatment and care for the people
of Hong Kong. In the past years, we have made tremendous endeavours in developing tech-based
solutions to meet various patient needs and enhance the quality of service. We look forward to
gaining insightful perspectives particularly in this aspect in the Convention.

With our anchor focusing on HA’s core values of people-centred care, professional service,
committed staff and teamwork, the Convention will have over 150 distinguished overseas and
local speakers sharing with us their expertise and insights in more than 60 sessions. Special
sessions will render discussion opportunities on topics such as stroke management, stimulation
clinical training and assessment, and healthcare in mainland China. Masterclasses will include
clinical topics such as cosmetic drugs, diabetic management, renal medicine, and neurometabolic
disorders.

Organising this flagship healthcare event is an arduous task. I would like to express my sincere
thanks to the Organising Committee, Scientific Programme Committee, Convention Management
Committee and all colleagues of HA from various levels for their selfless contribution. My heartfelt
appreciation also goes to the Convention Secretariat for its hard work.

Looking at the impressive list of speakers, I am sure that all delegates of the Convention will find
the event informative, inspiring and enlightening. On this memorable occasion, I hope everyone
will enjoy it and look forward to exchanging ideas constructively with one another.
