                                    There are increasing evidences showing the importance of effective medical leadership and medical engagement on health
                                    system performance and quality of patient care. Health systems around the world are developing strategies to promote
                                    medical leadership and engagement. In this session, leaders from Australia, Canada, United Kingdom and United States are
                                    going to discuss the policy, system and practice of medical leadership in their respective countries. They will address the
                                    following questions in the session:

                                    •	 What are the government/institutional policies that promote the development of medical leadership?

                                    •	 What are the system/environmental factors that nurture medical leadership in the respective countries?

                                    •	 What do medical leaders do or what roles do they play in the country specific healthcare environment?

                                    •	 What are the barriers the speakers face in promoting medical leadership?

                                    •	 How to demonstrate to the policy makers and patients in your country the values of medical leadership?

                                    The session will be highly interactive to explore the expanding horizons of medical leadership development and its
                                    relationship with health system performance.
