with the 4 priorities portrayed by the Secretary for Health, Welfare
and Food, we sincerely invite submissions free papers on topics
related to the following service areas:
- Acute and emergency care
- Services for low income group and the underprivileged
- High cost, advanced technology and multi-disciplinary professional
team work
- Training of healthcare professionals
Abstracts on other issues may also be considered.
Papers will be selected for oral presentation at the Service Priorities
and Programmes sessions and poster displays during the Convention.
Winners for the Best Oral Presentation will be selected and awarded.

Selection Criteria
Abstracts submitted will be selected for oral presentation or poster
display with reference to the following criteria:
- Relevance of the objectives to the sub-themes of HA Convention
2006
- Applicability of the programme for service wide usage
- Robustness of the methodology and conclusion
- Involvement of multi-disciplinary efforts and cooperation
- Clinical and/or service enhancement
Guidelines on Preparation of Abstracts
For uniformity, abstracts selected for oral presentation will be
printed in the format as per sample (please click

When typed in single-space in English (Times New Roman) with 12
point font size, the total number of words would be less than 400
words (including abstract title and name of author(s). Authors are
requested to type their initials and last name, but not degrees,
titles, or institutional appointments. The name(s) of the institution(s)
where the work was carried out should follow the list of authors
and annotated respectively with Arabic numerals in superscript (see
sample).
Standard abbreviations should be used. Special or unusual abbreviation
should be in parentheses after the term when it appears for the
first time.
Please avoid using tables or graphs.
Submission should be in Word format. Print or fax copies of abstracts
will not be accepted.
Abstracts may be rejected for publication if illegible or not conforming
with the standard format. The Organizing Committee reserves the
right for the final editing of the abstracts.
