Henry Fan receives Directors of the Year Awards

Hospital Authority (HA) Chairman Henry Fan has recently been selected as an awardee for the Directors of the Year Awards 2025 in the category of ‘Statutory / Non‑profit-distributing Organisations Non-Executive Directors’ organised by The Hong Kong Institute of Directors, in recognition of his outstanding directorship. The panel of judges commended that Henry has modernised governance, introduced digital innovation, and sustainability initiatives, while fostering a culture of accountability and compassion across public hospitals, leading the public healthcare system towards a new milestone.

Henry says the honour does not belong to him alone. “This award is dedicated to the entire HA. It is a recognition of our colleagues’ commitment to providing quality public healthcare services to the people of Hong Kong with professionalism and passion,” he explains.

He adds that the ageing population and increasing prevalence of chronic diseases have posed significant challenges to the public healthcare system. He expresses his gratitude to the teams, HA Board members, and all stakeholders for working together to meet these challenges. “Over the past few years, we have been actively pursuing reforms to ensure the sustainability of public healthcare services. I firmly believe that the HA will continue to innovate and safeguard the health of Hong Kong citizens,” he says.
