Striving for excellence
Our Hospital Authority colleagues strive constantly to improve the quality of service and ensure every patient receives timely treatment and an outstanding experience. In this edition of HASLink, we look at some of the initiatives helping to raise standards, such as the digitisation of tissue slides and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to screen data and identify suspected cancer cases at an earlier stage and accelerate the diagnostic process. The CHIMP monitors inpatients’ vital signs and analyse data using AI so that any abnormalities can be immediately alerted to frontline staff. Meanwhile, the ‘EASY buddy’ device helps patients with visual, hearing, speech, or cognitive impairments proceed smoothly to next stage of their treatment journey.
Beyond clinical services, colleagues are continually finding new ways to help patients-in-recovery, including teaching them handicrafts to develop life skills and rebuild their confidence. At Castle Peak Hospital, recovering patients prepared for the arrival of the Year of the Horse by creating a range of colourful festive decorations – from design to production and delivery. It is an inspiring way to celebrate the holiday season and just one of many stories in this edition of HASLink to bring you hope and optimism for the year ahead.
