The Institute of Mental Health (IMH) of Castle Peak Hospital (CPH) has been supporting the Mental Health Month initiated by the Government every year. The theme for this year is mental health of youth. The IMH is a centre of excellence for promotion and advocacy of better community mental health, through organizing various educational activities for general public.

On 8 November 2008, the IMH organized the Youth Mental Health Gala and "CPH Impression" Art Exhibition at Tuen Mun Town Plaza, aiming to promote the importance of youth mental health. With the staunch support from the Lions Club of Tuen Mun and Sino Group's "Art in Hong Kong", the Gala was enlightened with a well-mixed activities including an educational talk & information counter on mental health, game booths, charity sales and the Prize Presentation Ceremony of the CPH Mural Painting Competition. Two officiating guests, Ms. Siu Kit LUNG, Tuen Mun District Social Welfare Officer of Social Welfare Department and Mr. Garrison S.K. Hui, District Governor of the Lions Clubs International District 303 - Hong Kong & Macau, China, were invited to present prizes to the winning teams.

The Kick-off Ceremony of "CPH Impression" Art Exhibition had taken place in the same occasion. The exhibition, the first CPH roving art exhibition, was held in different shopping malls where it showcased the winning mural paintings created by a group of secondary students after visiting the hospital. In addition to artworks created by our talented patient artists with intellectual disabilities, there were some unique photos of the hospital environment. Through the exhibition, we hope to bring you a renewed impression on CPH from a different and new perspective. We also hope that arts can connect all of us together, regardless of who we are.

The IMH strives to advocate better mental health through conducting more public education, which we believe that it would be a good mean to disseminate knowledge in mental health to the public, to enhance better understanding of mental illness and to encourage positive emotional management.
