Introduction
Shatin Hospital commenced operation on December 2, 1991 and has been in full function since February 1994. Shatin Hospital is a rehabilitation hospital of the Hospital Authority.
Shatin Hospital focuses on medicine and geriatrics, surgery, neurosurgery, psycho-geriatrics, adult psychiatry, hospice and palliative care. The hospital is equipped with a Sleep Assessment Unit. The community psychiatric outreach service for Shatin area is also based in Shatin Hospital. The hospital works closely with the Prince of Wales Hospital and other hospitals in New Territories East Cluster.
