Integration of the voluntary services of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and Tai Po Hospital has created a synergy effect, facilitating the collaboration and development of the voluntary services of both hospitals. Mission of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital is bring life to mankind in its fullness through enhancement of wellness of the total person and compassionate care of the sick.” and that of Tai Po Hospital is to collaborate with community partners to achieve improvement in community health.”. Our voluntary services have put the missions into practice.

• Strengthen the collaboration and connection among the volunteers and staff of departments and utilize the expertise of volunteers to assist in the operation of the departments, providing high efficiency and quality of patient care.
• Promote volunteerism and healthy lifestyle (include physical, psychosocial and spiritual aspects).
• Develop the spirit of "help and self-help".
• Provide timely support and concern to the needy in-patients during their hospitalization, as well as discharge follow-up and care services so as to enhance their quality of life.
• Assist the needy patients to reintegrate into the society and facilitate community involvement; use of community resources and build social support network for them.
• Strengthen the collaboration with non-governmental organisations to provide support for the needy patients.

• Aged 15 or above and willing to contribute at least 12 service hours in a year.
• Applicants under 18 should obtain consent from parent/guardian
• Applicants are required to undergo selection interview and attend trainings and orientations.
