Scope of Service

Our department provides in-patients, out-patients, day patients and community rehabilitation services for different clinical specialties including Medical, Accident & Emergency, Orthopaedics & Traumatology, Surgical, Paediatrics, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Work Rehabilitation, Pain Management, and Substance Abuse Service.


Out-patient Clinic - Booking new appointment

  • Referral letter from the registered doctors of Hospital Authority or Department of Health is required for booking new case appointment. The referral letter is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

Out-patient Clinic - Points to note

  • For each attendance, patient must present a valid identification (ID) document. "Non-entitled Person"(NEP) charges may apply if patient fails to present a valid ID document and no retrospective refund could be arranged.
  • Eligible medical fee waivers must present an identity proof and claim their waiver eligibility status at each registration. If eligibility is confirmed through online enquiry system, medical fee waiving would be arranged.
  • Please attend according to the date and time as shown on appointment slip. Appointment may need to be rescheduled if patient is late for 30 minutes or more. If patient cannot attend as scheduled, please contact the reception for rescheduling as soon as possible.
  • Should patient notice change of condition before the next appointment, please call the reception for arrangement, and/or consult doctor promptly.
  • For each attendance, please bring all prescribed items which were provided by occupational therapist, such as splint or pressure garment.
  • If you feel unwell on the date of appointment, please contact case therapist for rescheduling as soon as possible.
  • If attendance certificate is needed, patient should request on the date of attendance. For retrospective request, please contact Health Information and Records Office for application.
  • After each appointment, please book the next appointment at the reception before you leave.
  • If you missed a scheduled appointment, please call reception for rescheduling. A new doctor’s referral letter is needed for rebooking if patient missed a scheduled appointment for over 28 days or default/ change appointment for 3 times. Consequently, a new attendance fee is applied.
  • Upon hoisting of the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 (or above) or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal or announcing of “Extreme conditions”, Occupational Therapy Department is closed. Patient should call for appointment re-arrangement after the department re-opens.
  • If there is any change in personal particulars, such as address or telephone number, please inform the reception for update.
