From the editor

Referred to as the Hospital Authority equivalent of the Oscars, the Outstanding Staff and Teams Award shines a spotlight on a group of awardees identified from across the HA network to highlight their outstanding contributions in serving the healthcare needs of people in Hong Kong.

From a very deserving shortlist of 23 individual and 34 team nominees, six individuals and seven teams were finally identified as this year’s winners, in recognition for efforts ranging from the development of a new surgical procedure to treat a less well-known disease, showing tireless dedication in supporting patients on a long and difficult road, and making system and service improvements designed to enhance the safety of patients and staff.

Staff is the most valuable asset for HA. In formally acknowledging the truly exceptional work of staff and teams each year, HA aims to give these excellent staff a big round of applause and encourage colleagues to keep striding forward in fulfiling our mission to provide outstanding patient-centred care!
