As we usher in the Year of the Snake, HASLink wishes all of you good health and the greatest happiness!

This year, we have given both its print and e-versions a facelift. Besides a neat and more aesthetic new layout and animated photos and graphics, we’ll be bringing you more human-interest stories.

For this issue’s cover story, we invited members of several families, such as a father and son, twins, a mother and daughter, and three brothers, to share their feelings about their identities as “relatives” and “colleagues”. We hope their remarks will inspire you to care more about your colleagues around you.

On page 9, we have a story about a “wheelchair doctor”. This girl’s lower limbs suddenly became paralysed in 2004, and a wheelchair became her lifelong partner. However, she has never given up, and she insisted on becoming a doctor, a dream that will materialise when she becomes Hong Kong’s first wheelchair doctor in July.

Another story that will strike a chord among you is our column “1 Minute Talk”, which first appeared in the last issue. We invite various frontline colleagues to write about their personal feelings concerning their work. Turn to page 18 and you can read another touching story.

We are making all these changes because we wish to do our best to make HASLink a more human-focused and emotive internal publication. We hope you will enjoy reading it!
