ixteen outstanding supporting staff members are offered by HA to study the two-year Enrolled Nurse (General) Training Course through a pilot training sponsorship programme.

Launched in 2011, the Pilot Training Sponsorship Programme for Supporting Staff to Undergo Enrolled Nurse (General) Training aims to provide high calibre supporting staff aspiring to a professional nursing career with enhanced career advancement opportunities. The response to the programme was overwhelming with hundreds of applications. Some of the 16 successful candidates emerging from stringent selections have started their theory and practical training in HA's four nursing schools since October.

With strong support and valuable inputs from clusters, nursing schools and the working group, the whole programme rolled out smoothly. HR department of head office also arranges regular gatherings for selected staff to facilitate mutual support and sharing.

n HA Family Night (5 November) and Family Day (11 December) in 2011, colleagues enjoyed the dolphin shows and rides together with their families at Ocean Park and Hong Kong Disneyland. More than 9,500 staff members and their guests turned out for the two events which filled both amusement parks with entertainment and fun.

Meanwhile, over 1,900 colleagues have signed up for the New Year Run 2012, a record high for the event. Entry is closed though, fundraising for the HA Charitable Foundation is still on until 29 February 2012. Your generous support is most welcome.
