Margaret Cheung heads corporate services

 

 Margaret Cheung Sau-ling, who assumed the post of Head of Corporate Services at the Hospital Authority head office in Oct 2011, will take the helm of boards and support, corporate communication, legal services, as well as head office administration and finance matters.

Ms Cheung is a seasoned senior executive with extensive management experience. She has worked in various bureaux and departments since joining the Hong Kong Government in 1984. Prior to her post at HA, Margaret was principal executive officer in the Transport Department. Having worked in the former Health and Welfare Branch and the Department of Health, she possesses in-depth knowledge of the public service and public healthcare system. On joining HA, she said: "I feel like coming back home."

Taking up the new responsibility, Margaret noted that she would deliberate and review the role of corporate services and carefully plan to optimise her team's effort to establish synergy for HA.

Improvement measures for allied health

The HA has implemented the following measures to relieve manpower shortage and workload for the allied health workforce:

為 Up to the end of October, 14 appointed overseas diagnostic radiographers have reported or confirmed to report duty in 4th quarter this year
為 25 potential diagnostic radiographers and six potential podiatrists are sponsored to study overseas in 2010 and 2011
為 All 527 approved items of equipment are expected to be replaced by the end of 2011/12
