Hands-on Session

 

This is a half-day interactive session, which aims to enable in-depth exploration and experimentation of HADCL’s data and technical capability through demonstrations, hands-on practice and exercise. Guided by HA’s experienced IT and HI practitioners, participants will work together and experience the data, tools and platform of HADCL in a close-to-reality environment.

  • Walkthrough of HADCL Data, Platform and Tool

  • Introduction to health data, clinical terms search engine demo and hands-on practice

  • Demo and Guided Hands-on Practice

  • Exercise on Data Analytics & Machine Learning for Healthcare Scenarios

 

Target Audience:

Academic researchers from Hong Kong’s local universities who are interested in, or may be involved in, any future collaboration projects with the HA via HADCL, in particular researchers who will hands-on perform Big Data analytics or Machine Learning in their research work.
 

Prerequisite:

  • University degree, currently working on research related to healthcare, public health, data analytics, machine learning, or other relevant fields with one of the local universities in Hong Kong.
  • Participants must have first successfully completed the eCourse* before joining the Hands-on Session.
  • Participants should possess prior knowledge and experience on Big Data analytics and/or Machine Learning.
  • Participants must comply with the security measures and house rules of HADCL, and sign a statement confirming their compliance prior to accessing the HADCL environment.
  • Priority will be given to the applicant from UGC-funded universities.

    *eCourse:
    Designed and delivered by experienced practitioners of Health Informatics and IT from HA, the eCourse contains a series of self-learning videos which aim to provide participants with a walkthrough of the HA clinical data available in HADCL, the background knowledge about the healthcare system and process that create and utilize these data. Upon completion of the eCourse, participants will have the necessary prior knowledge for Hands-on Session. Selected applicants of Hands-on Session will receive an email from HADCL Office for instruction to access the eCourse.
