Mission of department
The Department of Clinical Psychology of TWH was formally established in February 1996. Its main purpose was to provide clinical and health psychology service to the patients. In line with the Hospital Authority and Tung Wah Hospital policies for delivery of quality health care service to the community, and following the tradition of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, the mission of the Department of Clinical Psychology of TWH can be summarized as follows:
To meet the psychological needs of the patients through consistent, high-quality and evidence-based psychological service;
To promote psychological and mental health in relation to the physical health of the public with care, dedication and efficiency;
To collaborate with other health care providers, social service agencies and cluster partners of psychological service in maximizing the benefits of the patients and the community;
To maintain and extend Tung Wahˇ¦s tradition by providing medical care as well as psychological care to those in need so that no one would be denied from obtaining adequate medical and psychological care due to lack of means.

Clinical psychological assessment: assessment of mental, emotional and behavioural functioning and impairment, such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, somatic symptom disorders, adjustment disorders, and other mental health problems. |
