屯門醫院新手術室大樓早前以棚架、帆布及圍板等圍封，外界一直未能窺探新大樓的外觀。經過幾個星期的拆卸工程後，棚架及圍網已經由上層至下層完全拆卸，讓新大樓完全對外展示。
新大樓以白色為主色調，外觀明淨並具現代感，給人耳目一新的感覺；這個設計的另一個好處，就是能夠突顯與現有大樓的分別，方便公眾日後使用新大樓。用料方面，新大樓盡量採用低導熱物料作為建築結構，期望日後可以整體提高節能效益，而建築物外殼的設計也有助緩解噪音，體現了環保建築的理念。
至於內部工程方面，繼續全速進行中。其中最先「入伙」的九樓及十樓，工程已大致完成，現階段主要是著手裝修工作，以準備正式裝嵌家具及安裝不同儀器等；而位於二樓、四樓及六樓的手術室，雖然工程進度有異，但也陸續完成組裝牆板、地板、天花及金屬支架等不同部份。
除了手術室之外，一如早前通訊報道所指，新大樓日後將會設有其他設施，包括急症室的擴建部份，以及深切治療部病房，惟內部間格及設計與手術室所在的樓層略為不同，需要先進行一些平整及改動工程，相信稍後會追上整體進度。
The Operating Theatre Extension Block (new OT Block) was covered by scaffold and canvas without showing its look to the public. After completion of exterior works last month, the look of the new OT Block was first unveiled to the public. The white exterior of the building demonstrates a modern, fresh and clean look to all. The colour also gives it a clear identity and makes it stands out from the old buildings at Tuen Mun Hospital. The public can easily identify the building even from afar.
To ensure sustainability and reduce environmental impacts, our new OT Block adopted many green building characteristics and design. First, the building materials are of low thermal conductivity with good thermal insulation resulting in the reduction of overall building energy consumption. On the other hand, the concept of building envelope also helps to reduce noise transmission.
As reported in the previous new OT Block newsletters, the new operating theatres will be located on 2/F, 4/F and 6/F. The prototype installation of wall panels, vinyl floors, ceiling and metal studs are in progress. As the new delivery suites on 9/F will be the first batch of facilities to commence service in the new OT Block, workers are now conducting renovation works in full speed in order to prepare for equipment and furniture installation as soon as possible.
With the rainy season coming, the hospital is paying more attention to ensure the construction site would be free from stagnant water. Regular on-site inspection is required to ensure the environmental hygiene standard.

應對蚊蟲問題一直以來都是屯門醫院手術室大樓擴建計劃中重要的議題之一，主要原因是工地毗鄰醫院現有大樓，有不少病人出入，衞生水平要求較一般工地大大提高。
夏天已經到臨，天氣反覆不定，時晴時雨。鑑於工程仍未完成，如遇大雨，新大樓室內部份有機會出現積水，從而滋生蚊蟲；另一方面，現時工地每日有過百名工作人員出入，無可避免產生一定數量的垃圾，包括殘留食物。針對上述情況，我們持續督促承辦商必須妥善清理積水及收集垃圾等，以截斷蚊蟲滋生的機會。食物環境衞生署近日也派員前往巡視，並就如何維持工地環境衞生，給予不少寶貴的意見。
除了從根源著手處理蚊蟲問題，承辦商也會邀請專業滅蟲公司到場噴灑滅蚊油及放置防蚊沙等，次數為每星期兩次；如有需要的話，更可增加相關次數。
2019 冠狀病毒病的疫情近日雖然有所放緩，但我們不敢鬆懈，要求承辦商在工地嚴格執行各項防疫措施，避免疫情爆發，包括工作人員每日上班前要先探熱、佩戴口罩、要求居於強制檢疫大廈的工作人員暫時停止進入工地，以及建議他們定期進行檢測等。
因應2019 冠狀病毒病疫苗接種計劃早前開展，承辦商也鼓勵工作人員接種疫苗，這樣便可免卻他們需要定時接受檢測的安排，並達到「護己護人，齊打疫苗」的目的。
