Interaction with neighbors in Southern District
Community Forum on QMH Redevelopment Project

Stage 2 of QMH Redevelopment Project will commence soon! The Hospital organized a community forum on 7 March 2018 at Aberdeen Kaifong Welfare Association to explain to our neighbors about our construction plan and the possible influences on the community. The Ten-year Hospital Development Plan of Hospital Authority was introduced and our management had made a presentation on our redevelopment progress.

Icebreaking
Being the first time for QMH to hold a community forum on Redevelopment Project, an icebreaking session was arranged. Winner of the quiz game was awarded a vacuum flask (special edition to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of QMH!).

Briefing Session
Ms Winnie Yip, Cluster General Manager (Administrative Services) of Hong Kong West Cluster of Hospital Authority, shared at the forum about the milestones achieved by QMH Redevelopment Project. For the first phase of works, the conversion of Senior Staff Quarters was completed. The Hospital will proceed to plan for the construction of New Block. She emphasized that QMH will continue to organize community forums to maintain good communication with community partners as well as to keep our neighbors informed about the updates.

Different participants raised their questions and opinions during the forum, enjoying good interaction with our Hospital representatives.

Q&A Session
The neighbors in Southern District actively participated in the forum to discuss with Dr LUK Che-chung, Hospital Chief Executive of Queen Mary Hospital/ Tsan Yuk Hospital. They expressed their views on Redevelopment Project as well as the transportation arrangement and use of technology in medical services. These valuable opinions were crucial for us to understand the social needs and expectation.

The forum was a successful one and QMH will hold another forum at Central & Western District in 4Q 2018. We will continue to work with our stakeholders to build together a better Queen Mary Hospital.
