Message of Mr Edward S T HO, Chairman of Prince of Wales Hospital Charitable Foundation

Prince of Wales Hospital is an acute regional hospital providing a full range of acute, secondary and tertiary service for the population of New Territories East, which is the widest geographical area in Hong Kong with a very large population segment. It is also the teaching hospital of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Prince of Wales Hospital Charitable Foundation was set up on 31 January 2007 to support the Hospital in improving the physical and mental health of the public in the community; and also to promote medical education and research in cooperation with the Chinese University of Hong Kong. It is with great pleasure that I take up the post as Chairman of the Charitable Foundation.

The Prince of Wales Hospital Charitable Foundation has formulated comprehensive and long-term fundraising plan to achieve our goals. This year, the focus of the upcoming fundraising event will be patients suffering from diabetes who require long-term care.

We are pleased to partner with Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation to host the first fundraising event : ¡§PWH-KCRC Health and Charity Ride¡¨ on 28 October 2007. We are also glad to have the support of Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong in Wu Kai Sha in providing venue for the health check carnival held after the Charity Ride.

We need your active support and generous contribution for the Prince of Wales Hospital Charitable Foundation and our first fundraising event. Please join hands with us to help more patients in need and promote health of the public in the territory.
