The spokesperson of Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH) today (17 May) announced a newly confirmed critical case of human swine influenza (HSI): A 22-year-old female patient attended the Accident and Emergency Department of the hospital on 12 May due to fever, cough and vomiting. She was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit subsequently and positive result of HSI was confirmed the next day (13 May). Tamiflu, antibiotics and antiviral drugs were prescribed. She is now in critical condition and requires ventilation support. The hospital will continue to closely monitor her condition.
