The Main Clinical Block and Trauma Centre of the Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH) has commenced service. The Accident and Emergency Department (A&E) will be relocated this Thursday (28 October) from the existing Main Block to the extension block.
Patients arriving after 8am that day (including walk-in patients and those arriving on ambulance) will be attended in the new A&E. The existing A&E will close after all patients who have arrived and registered before 8am have been treated.
The spokesperson for PWH said, “Starting 8am that day, taxis and private cars should turn left at Chap Wai Kon Street to the new A&E to drop off passengers. No waiting is allowed in that area. The hospital will arrange signage and staff to direct traffic flow.”
Relocation of hospital wards to the extension block has started since 11 October and will complete on 31 October. The inpatient pharmacy on 1/F in the extension block will also begin to operate that day.
