Department profile
The department provides a full spectrum of rehabilitation services. They include assessment; examination and analysis to formulate appropriate treatment plan; and design and manufacturing of prostheses, orthoses and other rehabilitation aids for patients suffering from neuromuscular and skeletal abnormalities or deformities.
Scope of service:
- Post-operative orthotic care
- Scoliosis bracing for paediatric idiopathic scoliosis patients
- Postural and seating service for paediatric patients
- Myoelectric control upper extremity prosthetic service
- Special-design lower extremity prosthetic service
There are 13 Prosthetist-Orthotists and 12 supporting staff in the department.

Appointment booking
- Appointment can be made in person or by fax to the department.
- A doctor's referral letter, HKID card or other valid identification documents are required.
- If you default or change your appointment, you may need to start waiting again.
- If you condition deteriorates before your first appointment, please seek medical attention from a nearby general outpatient clinic, private doctor or A&E.
