Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology
Department profile
We provide comprehensive service for patients with musculoskeletal disorders. Our service covers all disorders of the musculoskeletal system from congenital malformations to acquired conditions including trauma, infection, tumour, degeneration, and metabolic bone diseases. We are the quaternary referral centre in Hong Kong for scoliosis and tumour.
There are three adult inpatient wards with 40 beds each and 18 beds in two mixed-specialty surgical wards for children.
The outpatient services are delivered through a subspecialty team structure where highly specialized techniques and advanced technologies are employed widely such as minimally invasive surgery in all teams particularly in foot and ankle, hand, sports, spine and trauma.
The most advanced computer navigation image-guided orthopaedic surgery has been developed and implemented in this hospital for limb deformity correction, spine, trauma and tumour services.
