Department profile

The department provides primary healthcare service to the community through general outpatient clinics and the Family Medicine Specialist Clinic. Our major target patients are the elderly, low income group, and those with chronic diseases.

Services of the general outpatient clinics include:

• Medical consultation
• Nursing care (e.g. injection, wound dressing, blood taking, health education)
• Multidisciplinary programmes (e.g. risk assessment and management for diabetes and hypertension, Nurse and Allied Health Programme – Wound Care, Respiratory Disease Management, Integrated Mental Health Programme, smoking counselling and cessation, patient empowerment)
• Government Vaccination Programme

The Family Medicine Specialist Clinic provides specialist service to patients referred by various specialties with relatively stable condition.

General outpatient clinics

There are four general outpatient clinics in Shatin, including Lek Yuen General Out-patient Clinic, Ma On Shan Family Medicine Centre, Yuen Chau Kok General Out-patient Clinic and Shatin (Tai Wai) General Out-patient Clinic. For the convenience of patients, some clinics also provide service in the evenings and during Sundays and public holidays.
