Department profile

We are a tertiary referral centre for patients with gastrointestinal diseases and a training centre for medical and surgical gastroenterologists. We adopt a comprehensive and integrated approach to treat digestive diseases and conduct research that changes clinical practice, both locally and globally.

In 2008 we were recognized as a World Centre for Excellence by the World Endoscopy Organization. Our centre is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to provide a full range of advanced diagnostic and minimally invasive therapeutic procedures. The large clinical load in an academic institution with close collaboration with various disciplines provides a unique environment for research leading to advancement in patient care.
