What is the objective of the Private Healthcare Info Desk (“Info Desk”)?

The Info Desk aims at providing more options for diagnostic radiology imaging of private institutions to patient in order to enhance the overall quality of clinical and patient care.

Where can I make enquiry or appointment?

You or your friend or family member may come to Private Healthcare Info Desk of Tuen Mun Hospital, Pok Oi Hospital and Tin Shui Wai Hospital with your original referral letter issued by public hospitals/ clinics and Hong Kong Identity Card for appointment or enquiry. Info Desk staff will provide a list of private institutions for reference and consideration.

When can I have the examination after the appointment booking?

It depends on the earliest date provided by the chosen private institution. Examination usually can be arranged within one to two weeks. Examination can also be arranged at your preferred date.

How soon can I have the report after examination?

It depends on the earliest date provided by private institution, usually it takes two to seven working days. You may contact the private institution directly.

Can I obtain the diagnostic image(s)/X-ray film(s) and report(s) from the private institution?

Yes. You will be provided with the image(s)/ film and radiological report from the private institution for retention.

Do I need to collect the report by myself?

Where should I hand-in the private investigation report after it is available?

You can bring back private investigation report to the referring department during office hour for follow-up.

Not necessary. Info Desk staff can provide you a list of private institutions for further consideration if you cannot decide immediately.

Yes. It is your own choice to choose any private institution according to your preference.

What should I do if I decide to have the examination in public hospital?

Please contact the referring department during office hours for further arrangement.

How could I make the appointment after I have made my decision?

The list of private institution contains telephone number, fax number and address of the private institutions. You could contact the selected private institution directly for enquiries about the examination fee, examination date and appointment booking.

What information and document do I need when making appointment with private institution on the phone?

You need to provide your Hong Kong Identity Card number, age, gender, type of examination, part of body to be examined and contrast requirement. Private institution may request you to fax the referral letter issued by public hospitals/ clinics to them.

What should I do if I want to change or cancel the appointment with private institution?

Early notification to private institution is much preferable if you need to change or cancel your appointment. Otherwise, additional administrative fee would be imposed. For the cost of administrative fee, it is the business decision solely determined by the private institution.

Discount may be offered by presenting the original referral letter issued by public hospitals/ clinics to private institution for arranging the examination. For the percentage of discount offer, it is a business decision solely determined by private institution.
