Benign prostatic hyperplasia is the most common urinary problem among men. The treatment has been refined alongside developments of medical technology. Conservative therapies in the past like urinary catheterisation and open prostatectomy are now out-dated, while endoscopic procedures such as transurethral prostate removal and laparoscopic operations are the standards of today. In 2014, Department of Surgery performed a total of 1,866 urinary operations.
