Department of Surgery, Kwong Wah Hospital
The KWH is one of 14 acute general hospitals under the HA in Hong Kong. In 2014, Department of Surgery of the KWH served more than 16,000 in-patients and performed some 2,000 major and ultra major operations. The diseases involved are mainly abdominal surgical diseases, prostatic hyperplasia, urinary cancers, breast cancer and other malignant tumours, haemorrhoid, inguinal hernia and digestive tract diseases, etc. The services covers general surgery and specialties like vascular, urological, gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, colorectal, breast, head and neck, and burn surgery; among them, the KWH is particularly prestigious in the disciplines of urological, vascular, breast and colorectal surgery.
