Hospital Authority Kwong Wah Hospital
Physiotherapy

A Brief History

The KWH Physiotherapy has a history of some 40 years. In the earliest days, it was located at a small room in the orthopaedic ward, mainly offering in-patient rehabilitative treatment services. It was not until 1981 when Physiotherapy was formally relocated to 3/F, Yu Chun Keung Memorial Medical Centre, to provide the public with various specialist in-patient, out-patient and community outreach physiotherapy services. With growing demand and healthcare developments, the out-patient service was moved to 6/F after the expansion of Yu Chung Keung Memorial Medical Centre in 2000 to continue serving the public.
