Loving Care for Chronic Disease Award Ceremony cum Health Talk 2018
Date : 22 Sep, 2018
The Loving Care for Chronic Disease Award Ceremony cum Health Talk 2018 was successfully held on 22 September (Saturday) on the 3rd floor of TWGHs Tsui Tsin Tong Out-patient Building. Since 2010, it has become an annual tradition of KWH General Out-patient Clinic to recognise, encourage and reinforce the empowerment efforts of our patients in self-management of their chronic disease, such as diabetes mellitus and hypertension. There were three categories of the annual awards, namely: 1) Persistent Achiever Award: this award is given to patients who consistently managed to have good control of diabetes and other risk factors for the past three years.
2) Improver Award: this award is given to patients who demonstrated remarkable improvement in control of his/her diabetes and other risk factors.
3) Loving Carer Award: this award is given to family members who showed utmost care and compassion in helping the patient with his/her chronic disease self-management.
Throughout the years, TWGHs and KWH Senior Management have been very supportive of this meaningful event. This year, we were honoured to have our Hospital Chief Executive - Dr Eric Cheung, General Manager (Nursing) - Ms Jess Lo, Senior Hospital Manager (General Administration & Corporate Affairs) - Ms Winnie Kan and KWH Allied Health Coordinator - Mr Charlie Li as our distinguished guests among many others in gracing this event with their presence. Dr Chiang Lap Kin and Physiotherapist Mr Cheetham Siu also gave a very interesting talk on Chronic Pain Management. Once again, our special thanks to the organising team and volunteers for making this event a success.
